Acivilate is delighted to be included in Jobs for the Future’s Market Scan of educational technology for correctional systems. It’s an honor to be included alongside our industry associates such as AWS and Ameelio.
Acivilate’s Pokket offers executive function tools to assist someone in developing and executing on a plan for their reentry, so they aren’t so overwhelmed. Pokket also creates an environment where trusted employers can interview incarcerated candidates and those candidates can complete the job application process online, prior to release. Corrections-secure virtual application and interviewing tools bridge the gap between individuals residing in rural facilities and employers located in major metropolitan areas. When an individual earns a credential, they can take a digital copy of their certificate with them, along with any identity documents that the releasing agency has helped them to obtain. This solves the problem of paperwork getting left behind or lost when someone is unstably housed.
Jobs for the Future has a long history of addressing economic mobility through employment and life-long learning. Their policy report on apprenticeships is timely as the country looks to expand manufacturing capacity. Acivilate’s CEO had the opportunity to pursue an apprenticeship with British Aerospace straight out of high school, and can attest that lessons learned on the shop floor translated into value delivered as an executive at a later stage in her career. Apprenticeships allow lower income youth just starting out, who need to contribute to their family income and can’t shoulder college debt, the opportunity to get a foothold in a skilled industry.
Thanks JFF for the work you do, and the recognition you have provided to Acivilate.
